Edgar Allan Poe

20 Jun

Edgar Allan Poe is one of my favourite writers. I have enjoyed his works for many years and I find him to be, funny, mysterious and entertaining.  I hope to post quite a few of his poems on my blog so that others can enjoy his talent.

One of my favourite poems is called The Raven, it stirs the imagination.  This poem was made into a movie by Hammer House of Horrors years ago and it starred Vincent Price and Peter Laurie, I enjoyed that very much too.  Hammer House of Horrors used a few of Edgar’s works to tell horror stories.

I never tire of reading anything by Edgar Allan Poe.

Oh, I truly love Edgar Allan Poe. My favorites from his works are among others The Raven (of course) and Dream-Land… He inspired me in a lot of my own poems too. I haven’t heard about the movie versions before. Got to check them out!

Some of Edgar’s works were used by Hammer House of Horrors for the movies include: The Pit and the Pendulum, The Raven, The Fall of the house of Usher and Witchfinder General, all of these starred Vincent Price. Who happens to be a favourite of mine too 🙂
